Green Man Gatekeeper is an odd little shop nestled on the southern fringe of the Forest of Dean.

We are inspired by the history, myths, and traditions of the land around us, and this is evident in all we do. Often we start with an idea then look around for ways to make it real. This process leads us to create unique designs in leather, pewter, ceramic, wood, print, and other materials. 

Our shop is housed in part of a converted 17th century stable building on the Lydney Park Estate. In the 1920s, J.R.R. Tolkien spent some time at the estate while assisting with the interpretation of the finds from the excavation of Lydney Park Temple. The temple was in use during the Romano-Celtic period, and it is believed that Tolkien's experiences here inspired many key elements of his later writings.
